How do you book a consultation with our baby name experts and what happens next?
Choose the baby name consulting service that best fits your needs, below. The options range from highly-specialized services to general baby name advice for an hour or several months.
After you submit your payment, you will get a receipt with a link to the form that will help us learn more about you and what you're looking for in a baby name.
If your baby name consultation package includes a phone or video meeting, you'll find a calendar to schedule your session with our baby name experts.

If you're not finding what you're looking for, let us do the work. Our baby name consultants will hand-pick up to ten baby names based on your preferences. Whether you need one name or ten, you will receive analysis and explanations of all of the choices.
Five Names: $250
Ten Names: $375
You will receive your suggestions up to one week after questionnaire submission.
You’re down to a handful of names but you can’t decide between them. Let our baby name consultants make the choice, complete with the reasons behind our decision. Consider it an intelligent alternative to a coin toss.
$100 for two names. Add $20 for every name beyond two.
You will receive your Tiebreaker up to one week after questionnaire submission.
Talk through your name dilemma with a name coach. This service involves an initial one-hour meeting by phone or videoconference with our name experts, followed by a detailed report including name suggestions and advice for making your decision.
Name Coaching can be used for any question or concern related to names, but is especially recommended if:
- You are starting from scratch and don't know where to begin
- You need a name that meets complex criteria
- You are changing your own name or your child's name
- You are searching for creative ways to honor loved ones with your child's name
- You and your partner are having difficulty agreeing on a name or moving through the baby name process
You will receive your post-call report within two weeks.
Baby Name Concierge
The ultimate name consultation, including nine months of one-on-one consulting with our internationally recognized baby name experts.
We work with you from the very beginning, getting to know you and your family so we can find the best fitting name for your baby. You will receive unlimited meetings to discuss anything and everything name-related, along with as many name recommendations as you need to get to "the one."
We’ll do everything in our power, including custom-creating a name just for you, to guarantee you find a name you love that will make you proud for a lifetime.
Baby Name Experts and Consultants
Baby name expert Sophie Kihm is Nameberry’s Name Guru to the Stars. Sophie has advised celebrities (and other parents!) about baby names since 2015. She’s been featured in publications including the Huffington Post and People, and her writing has appeared in Today, the Huffington Post, and Considerable.
In addition to her job as a name expert, Sophie is a therapist in Chicago specializing in perinatal mood disorders including anxiety, depression, and OCD. She primarily works with parents on issues related to pregnancy and parenting (which occasionally means talking about baby names).
Sophie takes an interdisciplinary approach to names and naming. She considers the psychology, history, sociology, statistics, and creativity of names, which informs her work as a baby name consultant.
Emma Waterhouse is Nameberry’s resident expert on British names and trends. Her writing on baby names has been featured in Today, Motherly, and the Huffington Post. As Community Manager of our buzzing baby names forum since 2018, she has advised hundreds of prospective parents on where and how to find that perfect name.
A linguist by background, Emma speaks several foreign languages and graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Russian and Polish. As such, she has a special interest in the origin and history of names, as well as in the process of cross-cultural naming.
Emma lives in beautiful rural England with her husband and four young children.
Pamela Redmond, the world's leading baby name expert, is the cocreator and CEO of Nameberry. The coauthor with Linda Rosenkrantz of ten ground-breaking books on names, starting with Beyond Jennifer & Jason, published in 1988, and including Cool Names for Babies and The Baby Name Bible, Redmond is also the cocreator of the revolutionary new baby name generator Baby Name DNA.
